Guang-Fu Building of Taipei First Girls High School

Taipei First Girls High School is a Taiwanese all-girls senior high school. Accepting only the top scorers in the national Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students, it is on of the most prestigious high schools in the country. The most classic monument on campus, Guang-Fu Building, is the spiritual fortress for every junior high school student to study hard. Guang-Fu Building was built in 1933. With a history of nearly 90 years, it is the most representative building in the school. In 1998, the Taipei City Government designated Guang-fu Building as a municipal heritage site. After three presidents and 10 years of twists and turns, the Guang-Fu Building heritage site construction project finally started successfully on July 5, 202, and was restored in December 2023.

Guang-Fu Building is a 90-year-old building. The interior brick walls are peeling off, the window tenons are loose, the pipelines are old, the lights are dim, and even the beams and columns supporting the building structure are in critical need of reinforcement. The restoration of heritage monuments is more difficult and complicated than imagined. Every project and construction method must be handled in accordance with cultural heritage regulations. For the old parts of the pipeline, replacing the pipeline without damaging the heritage site is a major project. The Guang-Fu Building adopts the Liteputer PLC lighting control system, which does not require signal lines, making the construction easier. In addition, many of the lighting fixtures in Guang-Fu Building are custom-made lights. For example, the chandeliers in the corridor need to be configures with three circuits, namely upward lighting, downward lighting and ambient lighting. In the past, three lines were required for wiring to control three circuits. The PLC system only needs one power line to transmit power and signals, significantly reducing the cost of piping and wiring.
