National Concert Hall, Taipei
The National Theater Hall and Concert Hall are the most mature international arts center in Taiwan and one of the representative contemporary theaters in Asia. There are four indoor performance spaces. The National Theater contains a smaller Experimental Theater and the National Concert Hall holds a more intimate Recital Hall. The National Concert Hall original used traditional light sources, but were recently replaced with LED light sources. Liteputer cooperated with the National Concert Hall and pioneered a 16-bit 65,536-step high-resolution precision dimming method, pushing LED dimming technology to a new peak.
The National Concert Hall uses the latest dual color temperature (dim to warm) LED lights, which completely simulate the warm atmosphere of tungsten filament bulbs at low brightness. Unlike ordinary LED lights that may turn miserable green at low brightness, the color temperature changes from 2000K to 2800K, which is very comfortable and warm. The dimming effect is far better than that of tungsten bulbs. The total brightness is increased by 50%, while the power consumption is only 15% of the tungsten bulbs.
The National Concert Hall use standard DMX consoles to output 16-bit dimming signals, achieving 65,536 levels of high-resolution dimming effects. Liteputer converts the DMX signal into PLC and transmits dimming control signals on the AC 220V power line. The phase dimming method that causes power line interference and low energy efficiency is not used, and the interference of dimming on audio and other electronic equipment is also eliminated. More than 200 PLC LED bulbs with independent dimming control can be installed on each power lines without changing the wiring, significantly reducing installation costs.
The 65,536-step ultra-high-resolution dimming can accurately display the correct brightness changes at each dimming stage. Even between 99.5% and 100%, slight difference in brightness can be detected through an accurate light meter. When the dimming is as low as 1%, the brightness is 1/10,000 of the LED bulb when it is fully bright, which can perfectly present the faint light of the starry sky in the dark night. There are 65,536 steps of brightness change from 0% to 100%. The human eye perceives the dimming curve, with stable light on and off.
The National Concert Hall adopt PLC dimming control system, the advantages are as follows:
1. No re-wiring is required, each set of original power lines can be installed with up to 200 independent dimming bulbs.
2. Each bulb can be controlled independently, and the brightness can be calibrated at 1%. The precise 65,536-step dimming control makes the dimming easier and faster.
3. Save 85% of electricity, have high energy efficiency, do not use phase cutting dimming method, will not interfere with the AC power and will not interfere with the PA system.
